THE ELECTORAL COMMISSION OF JAMAICA

Invites applications from suitably qualified persons for the following position:

Database Administrator (MIS/IT 4)

 

Core Functions

  • Performs routine database maintenance and database related application operations
  • Monitors the system performance and effects tuning to optimize throughput and response time.
  • Coordinates the installation of new systems software or upgrades
  • Designs and integrates across database platforms
  • Ensures database security is maintained in accordance with organizational policies
  • Troubleshooting application and implementing solutions

Required Qualification and Experience

  • First Degree in Computer Science
  • Current MSSQL Certification
  • Two years experience as a Systems Programmer or Database Administrator
  • Experience with UNIX/Linux, Windows/NT and Windows Server
  • Experience with various Databases including MSSQL, Sybase, MySQL or Oracle
  • Experience with reporting tools including Crystal Reports, MS Access or SQL Reporting

Salary Band:  $1,406,073 – $1,671,379 p.a.
